Week 6 of 11

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you”

Fred Devito

Hello Team. Another amazing week done. Our first week back to school and after school practices. First real long run on Monday, track workout, bus trip to Ohlson Mtn, hosted a meet at Ohlson Mtn on a brute of a 5k course on a amazing sunny day. We worked a concession stand shift during the football game (Mariners WON!!!). We had another super-fun Saturday run, down Diamond Creek to the beach this week.

Parents, thanks for your help and support to make the meet happen Friday. It was a good experience for the team and hopefully you all enjoyed the time outside for a few hours.

Alayne, Cheska, and I are so amazed at this group of athletes. You’re putting in hard workouts, and adapting to these challenging times.

This week we’ll get back to some more challenging workouts, following our routine. Monday long run, track Tuesday, hills Wednesday, and aerobic Thursday. Friday we have some flexibilty and we’ll leave it open for now.

Saturday we’re working on plans to go to do a trail run in the Cooper Landing area (probably Ressurection trail out and back). If plans get approved it will be a 3 or 4 hour hike with some running. We’ll need to pack lunches and water packs to keep fed and hydrated.

Parents, we need to choose a booster club rep. The next meeting is next Monday so we need to get this resolved soon. It really is an easy task, just a meeting once a month and organizing concession shifts. Please call coach Bob 907-980-0459 if you’re interested. We get booster club proceeds for working shifts, proportional to how many shifts we do. It has been over $1000 some years. That money helps with team expenses (travel, motels, etc…). It’s an easy fundraiser for the team.

thanks and we’ll keep on adapting and adjusting…
